Berg Injury Lawyers’ Community Involvement

Alameda-based law firm Berg Injury Lawyers distributed more than 1,500 complimentary mobile headsets in response to California’s new law that prohibits the handheld use of cell phones while driving (VC §23123). The law, which took effect July 1, 2008, is meant to protect everyone on the road by reducing driver distraction.

According to the Public Policy Institute of California, an estimated 300 lives will be saved annually in California due to the new law. Additionally, Connecticut, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., currently have laws in place to ban using hand-held mobile devices while driving.

The legal professionals here at berg injury lawyers are not only passionate about helping injured people they also truly care about the people in the communities they serve as well. Always willing to give back to help educate the public and prevent injuries. Berg Injury Lawyers is always willing to lend a helping hand to both educate the public and keep people in their communities safe.
One program this team launched is Safe and Sober it’s designed to raise community awareness of the dangers of drunk driving and to encourage individuals to make responsible choices when they’ve had too much to drink.
On several holidays throughout the year Free cab rides home are made available to area residents who otherwise might attempt to drive after drinking.
Our law firm will pay for a free cab ride home. So if a person is out at a bar or a party and they’ve had too much to drink they can call a taxicab company and tell them it’s on berg injury lawyers and we will pay for their cab ride home.
Another way Berg Injury Lawyers has given back is by handing out more than fifteen hundred complimentary mobile headsets.
This was in response to California’s new law that prohibits the handheld use of cell phones while driving.
And this firm recognized that there were a lot of people in this community who simply didn’t have the money to buy a headset.
There was a line of 200 people out the door. Waiting for the headsets so we opened our doors early that day and were able to give away all of those headsets.
We helped people comply w/ the law and we made them safer drivers.
Attorney William Berg also participates in the Alameda County Bar Association’s Lawyers in the Library Program.
This program held at local library branches provides free confidential legal referral information to all County residents and is staffed by volunteer attorneys.
People come, they sign up, and they have a consultation in private for free with an attorney and they can ask any question they want. And they get free legal advice and I’ve been doing this now for 20 years and I enjoy it very much.
The team at Berg Injury Lawyers is proud to be part of a firm that cares so much about the communities it serves.
We’ve been really fortunate we’re a successful law firm. And I think it’s just the right thing morally to do to give back in a way that you can.
